2 Dec 2007 - Match Report KHFitC U12s (S&DYFL)
Worcester Youth AFC 8 v 0 KHFitC – League Cup – Report by Mel Weaver
We were in Worcester for the Club Christmas Party, so the short trip on to Norton should have made this an easy day to manage – but no - arriving at Norton, we were told that the match had been moved to Nunnery Woods. The new venue was exposed and the weather was not kind to either team – a biting strong wind and occasional sunshine mixed with rain and hail made for a difficult game for us against a very good well drilled Division 1 side.
Our starting line up was Charlie, Josh, Ashley, Ben A, Adrian, Ben G, Jack, Fletch, Harry, Danny and Sam.
A very dubious goal soon put Worcester 1-0 up with two players offside.
The Harriers were battling well with the mid field congested but Worcester went 2-0 with a quick free kick and shot.
An excellent break and shot from Fletch nearly brought a goal as the Harriers were starting to com back into the game.
There then came a very good break from Worcester gave them their third goal and the Harriers were having to survive sustained pressure by defending well.
Charlie made several great saves to keep the score down.
All in all a battling first half performance left the half time score 3-0 to Worcester.
H came on or Sam at the start of the second half and Harriers started brightly pushing Worcester back but then a good break for the home team gave them their fourth goal.
There was some good passing from Harriers keeping the ball in the the Worcester half was soon followed by two more quick goals: 6-0.
Worcester were now taking the game to the Harriers and pushing them back.
The home team were now in control and despite some good defending, Worcester broke away for their 7th goal.
Charlie made another great save to keep out a certain goal,
Another fine break by Worcester made the final score 8-0.
A battling hard working performance against an excellent Worcester Youth!
