1 Dec 2007 - Match Report KHFitC U11s (S&DYFL)
KHFitC 1 v 3 West Hagley report by Mitch Bastable
Starting line up: Amedeo, Ryan, James P, Jamie, Harry, James S, Charlie
Subs: Aaron, Jordan
A mid table clash arrived, and with Patrick and Sam unavailable for selection the squad was slightly weakened.
The game started and was evenly balanced for the first 15 minutes.
A good save from Amedeo prevented the visitors from taking an early lead, and at the other end Charlie couldn't find the angle after taking the ball around the keeper.
On the 16th minute a big throw from Harry right into the box forced an own goal, but I am sure Harry will want to claim it!
Nothing else to report from the first half, 1-0 at half time with Harriers looking comfortable.
A Game of Two Halves!!!
Aaron replaced Harry in the interval and settled into centre midfield.
An early corner from Hagley and a good header saw the visitors draw level....work on defending corners needed.
Jordan replaced James P on the 6th minute and looked good in defence, winning most of the balls in the air. Some of the boys still won't head the ball, and a lesson could be learnt off Jordan.
However, that wasn't enough...with a quite incredible second goal. A ball from behind the goal was kicked onto the pitch and Ryan left his man and passed the ball back.
Hagley scored as a result of this, and to say the manager was unhappy would be an understatement. He did ask me to mention that in 35 years of football he had never seen that occur! Ryan was replaced by Harry and moved into an unusual looking defence with Jordan.
2 minutes later Aaron gave a free kick away on the edge of the box, and instead of forming a wall, went back to mark a man on the goal line!
You could just see it coming.....3-0. So many failings on the basics.....
Not much else to report.....no desire, no determination....need I say more?
Dave will be looking for new players if things don't improve quickly. A lacklustre performance that sees the Harriers dropping down the table.
