15 Dec 2007 - Match Report KHFitC Falcons U9s (S&DYFL)

KHFitC Falcons 10 v 2 Kinver Colts - report by Matt Dalton

With four players missing it was a great chance to let the boys play a full match each. Rory in goal, Lewis M and Matthew in defence, Tom and Dan in midfield with Joel and Nathan up front.

A strong start saw Nathan find himself in the way of a shot from Joel on three minutes but thinking quickly he picked up the rebound and slipped it past the keeper to break his goal drought.

Joel determined to have another go struck well on five minutes and found the net unaided, Joel got his second on nine minutes to settle the nerves of the home spectators.

After half time Tom had an opportunity to try his hand at striker along side Dan, whilst Joel and Nathan held the midfield. Kinver pulled one back from a corner kick but Dan replied by dribbling into the box shooting and picking up the rebound making no mistakes second time around. Three minutes later Dan bought the ball the length of the pitch dribbling round everybody including the keeper. Tom picked the ball up outside the box, carried it in and placed it past the keeper to be denied by the post, Joel sliced the rebound, Nathan sliced the slice but it came down in front of him and he poked it the last metre to claim his second goal. Dribbley Dan carried another into the box and riffled it into the top of the net, Tom shot across the keeper (he does listen to me :o) the keeper couldn't hold it and Dan made sure with the follow up on thirty five minutes. Kinver had a lovely shot at Rory's top left corner, it looked to be a goal for sure but Rory excelled and kept it out. Kinver scored their second on thirty eight minutes with a scorcher from George, Dan dribbled another in thirty seconds later then Tom and Joel combined with some nice passing in the box to ensure Joel had a clear target for the last goal.

Well done boys but we do need to focus on passing a little more, some players found great positions but did not receive the ball. ....Have a good Christmas and keep fit for the New Year.
