15 Dec 2007 - Match Report KHFitC U11s (S&DYFL)
KHFitC 0 v 2 Kinver Colts - report by Mitch Bastable
Starting line up: Amedeo, Patrick, Sam, Jamie, Harry, James S, Charlie
Subs: Aaron, Jordan, Ryan, James P
It was a brisk winter’s morning as Harriers embarked on their final game of 2007.
There was a feeling we could get something out of this game, but the warm up made me think otherwise!
Half the lads put no effort into the warm up, lacked concentration and had no desire.
You just had the feeling they were going to be slow out the blocks........
The match started with immediate pressure from Kinver, who came close with two chances in the first three minutes.
After surviving the early onslaught Harriers finally woke up, and Harry produced a save from the Kinver keeper. (Who I must point out was fantastic throughout the match!)
On the 17th minute Jordan replaced James S.
The middle section of the first half was evenly matched, with chances falling to both teams. Charlie was unable to find the net, but it was nice to see chances been created.
At the other end some resilient defending from Patrick and Sam kept Kinver at bay, although the post and bar helped on a couple of occasions.
0-0 at half time, but you felt there were goals to come in this match.....and they did!
James P replaced Harry, and once again Harriers were slow to get started.
This time they were punished and Kinver scored after 2 minutes with a well worked goal.
Ryan replaced an injured Sam, and Kidderminster tried to push.
Aaron replaced an out-of-sorts James P and the Harriers looked for the equaliser.
Jordan hit a shot just wide, and Charlie came close with another effort.
On the 15th minute Sam replaced Jordan to steady the back, and James S replaced Charlie who had run himself out. Good game Charlie, those goals will come.
For the last 10 minutes Kinver came back and once again hit the post and the bar.
They scored the second goal, a feeble effort but they all count.
James S had a chance to pull a goal back, but the keeper was in the right place once again.
2-0 loss and a slow end to the year.
A promising start of the season has melted away into mid season blues, and somehow the manager and the parents have got to get these boys motivated for 2008.
I believe the quality is there, but the question on desire and the will to win must be answered soon, otherwise I foresee changes ahead.
MOM - Harry/Charlie
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone associated with KHFitC.
