5 Jan 2008 - Match Report KHFitC U11s (S&DYFL)
KHFitC 0 v 2 Enville Athletic - report by Mitch Bastable
Starting line up: Amedeo, Patrick, Sam, Jordan, Charlie, Jamie, Harry
Subs: Aaron, James P, James S, Ryan
A New Year and hopefully a fresh start for the Under 11's following a disappointing end to 2007.
A visit from tough tackling Enville promised to be a testing start, but as the game kicked off the boys were equal to them.
Nothing much to report in the first 10 minutes. A half chance for Jamie off a Harry throw in was the only chance, and Jordan looked a bit sharper than in previous matches.
After 12 minutes James S replaced an off form Jamie.
Some great defending from Man of the Match Sam must be mentioned, along with equally good defending from Patrick. A real good partnership on the day from the two boys.
Amedeo produced a fine save on the 14th minute and Harriers stood up to the pressure from oncoming Enville.
Aaron replaced James S who was suffering with asthma, and James P replaced Charlie in the middle of the park.
2 brilliant saves from Amedeo kept Enville out along with more fine defending from Sam and Patrick. Ryan replaced James P who was also struggling. Good job we had a full turn out!!
0-0 at half time, with a decent half from the boys.
Charlie replaced Harry and for the first 10 minutes of the second half Harriers looked dangerous and pressured Enville.
Good link play from Charlie and a much improved performance from Aaron helped the cause, and Ryan did a job in the centre of the park.
James S replaced Aaron who ran himself out on the 15th minute.
On the 16th minute Harriers gave away a needless free kick on the edge of the box, and Enville scored a fine goal from the kick.
2 minutes later Patrick was unlucky to score an own goal, and we suddenly thought a pasting was on the cards.
However, the boys try to fight back. James P replaced James S who didn't recover from the asthma, and Harriers pressed forward.
In the last 3 minutes Aaron replaced James P and Harry replaced Ryan, but to no avail.
We couldn't find the net, and that is a worry. We need to score goals from somewhere if we are to retain mid table status.
A better performance though, and hopefully one to take forward.
