19 Jan 2008 - Match Report KHFitC U11s (S&DYFL)

KHFitC 1 v 2 Meadow Park Youth – Report by Mitch Bastable

Starting Line Up: George, Patrick, James P, Jordan, Jamie, James S, Charlie

Subs: Aaron, Harry, Ryan

After last weeks poor display things could only get better, so the song tells us.

am pleased to report it did! Even with an absent Manager, keeper, and main defender.

The boys looked a lot more up for it, and James S hit a shot just wide of the post after 2 mins.

The game was evenly matched with both sides pressing and after 10 mins James S slid  perfect through ball but Charlie took too long and was tackled before releasing a shot.

After 14 mins a costly mistake at the back let the visitors in for an easy goal and you sensed trouble.

But instead of giving up the fight, the boys battled well and kept it to 1-0 at half time.

Mentions to Patrick at the back, and Jordan in midfield who both played well.

2 subs from acting manager Kev saw Harry replace Charlie and Ryan replace James S.

It was an unlucky start to the second half with an own goal from Jordan after 3 minutes.

It seemed to spur Jordan on though, and he played out of his skin for the next few minutes.

Ryan had a good effort at goal, and Harriers really piled the pressure on Meadow Park.

After 8 mins Aaron replaced Jordan and miskicked a chance on goal with his first touch!

More pressure form Harriers saw a great run from Aaron past 4 players, cut the ball back to Jamie who unfortunately hit the post. Great football though......

After 18 minutes Charlie replaced Jamie and Jordan replaced James S who had a very good game again.

Solid defensive work from Patrick and two great saves from new keeper George, kept the scoreline down.

1 minute from time Jordan broke through and scored a great goal which got a huge cheer from the moms and dads.

Harriers threw everything but the kitchen sink at the visitors but time ran out.

A great effort, and as I stated in my rather abrupt report last week: the boys will feel happier losing a game having known they gave everything....and I believe my point was proven.

MOM - Jamie
