Meadow Park Youth 4 v 2 KHFitC – Report by Mitch Bastable

Starting Line up:  George, Sam, James P, Jordan, Jamie, Aaron, James S

Subs: Charlie, Harry

2 weeks ago we came very close to getting a result from this team, so hopes were high and the need for points was great.

With 3 usual players absent a few changes were made but a terrible start to the game saw Harriers concede a silly goal after 2 minutes.

The team then ran around like headless chickens for ten minutes. Too many late nights, and not enough focus seemed to be the usual ingredient on offer!!

After 15 minutes Jordan who was having another good game, had a close effort on goal.

17 minutes came goal number 2 for Meadow Park Yth, with another silly defensive error.

Charlie replaced James S.

2 minutes later a free chance for Jamie, but the keeper pulled off a god save.

After 20 minutes Harry replaced Aaron.

The 23rd minute saw yet another defensive error give a goal away to the home team.

3-0 at half time, and once again a despondent manager tried to rally the troops.

2 minutes into the second half, and a failure to close the home team down saw goal no.4.

After 10 minutes James S replaced Jamie.

Then came our goal of the season so far in my eyes. A corner from Harry saw Charlie put a perfect header in the back of the net.

Once again Harriers picked up the pace. De-ja-vous prevailed......why do they take so long to warm up!!!!!!

Jordan had a good shot saved and a mention to Harry for his hard work. He was shattered after 15 minutes and Aaron replaced him.

On the 19th minute a great individual run and a goal from Charlie.

Harriers pressed forward but it took 2 good saves from George to keep the score down again.

Harry replaced Jordan with 3 minutes to go, but it was left too late again.4-2 the final score.

All the parents believe if we can wake up from the first whistle, and get everyone playing to their capabilities, then we could compete with 85% of the teams in the league...........

Question is.....how do you do that???
