15 Mar 2008 - Match Report - KHFitC U11s (S&DYFL)

Kinver Colts 2 v 2 KHFitC - repoprt by Mitch Bastable

Starting Line Up: Amedeo, Patrick, James P, Harry, Casey, Charlie, Aaron

Subs  Sam, James S, Jamie, Jordan

A pitch that looked like the cows had just finished grazing on and annoying gnats buzzing around our faces: that was our greeting as we turned up for the away fixture at Kinver Colts.

A strong line up started the match and Kidderminster went straight on the offensive.

Good passing between Harry, Aaron and Casey saw the latter hit a shot just wide.

The first 5 minutes we were all over Kinver and then out of the blue they scored an undeserved goal.

But the boys continued to pressure Kinver with Aaron hitting a shot on the ninth minute, forcing the keeper to save.

Charlie was looking lively on the wing, although we were willing him to release the ball earlier.

Patrick was as solid as a rock in the defence again, ably supported by James P who put in another good performance.

On the 15th minute Jordan replaced Charlie, and we continued to press.

Right on half time Harry hit a good long range shot which needed their keeper to pull off a good save.

1-0 down at half time, but plenty to be positive about.

James S replaced Harry and for the first 5 minutes the game was even with Kinver just being allowed back into the game.

A great through ball from Aaron saw Jordan blast the ball wide. A good effort but composure required in front of the goal.

Jamie replaced Casey and Sam replaced James P on the tenth minute. Then Kinver struck again with a goal out of nothing.

I know I felt really disappointed at this stage, thinking how we deserved something out of the game.

The next 5 minutes we pressured again with some quality play up front from Aaron, showing some skill and determination.

Charlie replaced Man of the Match Aaron on the 18th minute. A great performance and a proud dad I was too. Well done Aaron:keep it up!!

Harry replaced James S for his second spell.

On the 20th minute we got our just reward. An own goal from Kinver might have seemed harsh to them, but it was exactly what we deserved.

This spurred the boys on. Casey replaced Jamie and we pressed on again.

Charlie then played a lovely ball to Harry who cracked the ball just over the bar.

I minute to go and Harry fired a long range shot which the keeper fumbled......the ball fell to Jordan who composed himself and placed the ball into the net.

2-2....wild celebrations followed. The whistle blew a few seconds later, and a draw felt like a win!

A great game of football and a credit to all the boys for their effort. Well done Harriers.....that was super to see.
