22 Mar 2008 - Match Report - KHFitC U11s (S&DYFL)

KHFitC 2 v 1 Cookley Boys - report by Mitch Bastable

Starting Line Up: Amedeo, Sam, James P, Harry, Casey, Jordan, Aaron

Subs:  James S

A bitterly cold morning awaited our final home match of the season against Cookley. With a few absences the starting line up was an easy choice for manager Dave.

Immediately Harriers put pressure on Cookley and after 3 minutes a great through ball from Jordan saw Aaron force a save from the keeper.

After 7 minutes a flick on from Aaron off a throw in put Casey through and he ran past 2 defenders and scored a superb solo goal.

But Cookley fired straight back whilst Harriers were to busy celebrating and equalised.

We forced Cookley back in their own half for most of the first half.

After 13 minutes Harry hit a shot just wide.

After 17 minutes we claimed a free kick and Casey belted the ball in the net to make it 2-1.

Just before half time James S replaced Jordan who was injured in a tackle.

The second half got under way with James S looking lively. Harry had another good effort after 3 minutes, and it was good to see us creating chances once again. After 8 minutes Jordan replaced Aaron.

Amedeo then made 3 good successive saves from long range efforts. With the conditions very blustery it made saves very difficult to judge, but Amedeo did very well.

James P and Sam continued to work well together in defence.

After 13 minutes Jordan had a good opportunity, but hit just wide.

Casey hit a great shot 2 minutes later, and whilst the ref and some of us thought it went wide, others were convinced it went in but under a hole in the net. It happened that quick I just couldn't tell, but you have to go by the ref's decision.

17 minutes gone and Aaron replaced an injured James S.

The last 8 minutes were nerve wracking but Kidderminster held on well, and deserved a victory.

A great result to follow on from last weeks efforts. Well done again boys!
