29 Mar 2008 - Match Report - KHFitC U9 Falcons
KHFitC 0 v 1 Droitwich Foxes – report by Matt Dalton
Having just taken a ribbing from Andy Catt at the Hawks versus Cookley, something about me taking to only reporting victory for the Falcons, I have once again picked up my keypad to prove to him it was just apathy or is it Alzheimer’s I'm not sure..
Apparently (I don't know because I was sunning myself in the French Alps) the return match against the Foxes proved yet again to be the clash that produced the best football from each team this season. There is something about the way each team compliments the others style which allows for an expansive game giving the players time to show their control and skill on the ball whilst finding space to pass with confidence.
The score line with many youth matches can sometimes be misrepresentative of the actual game but our matches with the Foxes both league and cup have always been decided by a difference of one goal. This match was no exception being close fought to the end, chances well created and well defended. When it's down to one goal it has to be the most exiting game to watch at this level, one piece of brilliance or anticipation can change the game.
Well done our boys, the result matters not, the enjoyment matters most and if the football is skilful, fast and played as a whole team then the future will be bright for sure.
