KHFitC U11s 0 v 0 Mostyn Rangers - Report by Mitch Bastable
Starting line up: Amedeo, James P, Sam, Jamie, Jordan, Harry, James S
subs: Aaron, Ryan, Patrick
After a mixed pre season, Kidderminster Harriers Under 11's turned out in full force for the opening day of the new campaign. A tough game lay ahead against a team that were competing in the top flight last season.
The first 10 minutes was a typical opening day game...slow and a little untidy from both teams. However good concentration from keeper Amedeo was required as Mostyn proved dangerous on the 11th Minute.
2 minutes later James S broke through the defence and a right foot strike whizzed past the post.
Solid play from the two defenders James P and Sam kept the visitors at bay for the rest of the half, and Jamie proved his worth in right midfield with a great first half display.
On the 18th minute Aaron replaced Harry.
Another good save from Amedeo followed and then Patrick replaced Jamie on the 23rd minute.
The last couple of minutes from the first half saw another cracking shot from James S, which just flew past the upright again.
The second half was a much livelier affair. Kidderminster putting pressure on Mostyn in the first 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes Ryan replaced Jordan, who had worked tirelesley in the centre and Harry replaced an injured Sam.
A couple of good lay offs from Aaron saw close shaves from James S and Harry, and at the other end Amadeo continued a fine performance between the sticks.
The last 5 minutes was nervy with Mostyn picking up the pace. Jamie replaced Harry with 4 minutes to go and he and Patrick worked well to spoil the advances from the visitors.
The whistle blew and a fair result prevailed. On the whole Kidderminster looked a more solid unit then last year, and the parents were very proud of their achievements.
