15 Sep 2007 - Match Report KHFitC U11s (S&DYFL)

KHFitC U11s 0 v 3 Rock Sports - Report by Mitch Bastable

Starting line up: Amadeo, Patrick, James P, Jordan, Jamie, Harry, James S

Subs : Aaron, Ryan

The game got off to a good lively start with pressure coming from the visitors in the first 5 minutes.

James P and Patrick were dealing with the pressure well in defence until Patrick was injured from a kick in the face. Ryan replaced Patrick and the Harriers started to turn the game around and pressure Rock for the next 10 minutes. Jordan came close with a header, and James S used his speed advantage to worry their defence.

After 20 minutes Aaron replaced Jamie who had run himself into the ground on the right hand side. Well done again Jamie.

The last 5 minutes of the first half  was a nail biting affair, with a couple of important clearances from a  much improved Ryan.

The second half was much tougher with the visitors piling the pressure on.

Amadeo was in fine form again between the sticks and produced a few important saves during the half.

After 35 minutes Jamie replaced Harry and immediately got into the action with a cracking shot which just missed the target. Good job it did, because it was nearly in the wrong net!! A quick mention of the rules to let him know we change ends at half time followed.

The ball was mainly in the Harriers half, although Aaron did manage a long range strike but with not enough power.

A superb goal line clearance from Ryan followed and we thought it might just be our day.

Alas: On the 40th minute Rock scored from a corner.

Patrick replaced Jamie and Harry replaced Aaron but to no avail.

On the 45th minute another goal from a corner, almost a replica of the first.

Rock scored again with 2 minutes left, and despite a couple chances from James S and Jordan, the score finished 3-0.

A deserved victory for the visitors, but the scoreline may have flattered them slightly.

Much work to be done, but the parents still feel much improvement has been made already.
