KHFitC Hawks U9s 0 v 3 Droitwich Foxes - Report by Matt Evans

Firstly I must say the score line flattered our opposition, we matched them for the bulk of the game. This was our third game ever against a team that have been together for 3 years and are riding on the crest of a wave at the top of the league. The game started brightly with some good pressure from both sides, we were really holding our own against the league leaders. On 10 minutes the Foxes struck a devastating blow and scored to take the lead. We continued to battle and the scores stayed like this until well into the 2nd period. Lewis then had 2 chances, one of which agonisingly skimmed the outside of the post. Then 2 further goals from the Foxes settled the game. However our lads never gave up. Jack, returning from holiday last week battled throughout and performed excellently in defence in the 2nd half (I think he covered every blade of grass on the pitch at least 73 times). Again Dan marshalled superbly from the back and Jamie made some spectacular saves. Man of the match today was David who battled well in the centre of the park. In 3 games we have come so far, thanks to Jamie, Dan, Haydn, Lewis, David, Jack, Jack O, Byron, Alex and George for brightening up my weekends. A bit more luck and we could be celebrating a win or at least a draw today. Get down to the bookies and put your house on us winning next week.
