13 Oct 2007 - Match Report KHFitC U9 Hawks (S&DYFL)
KHFitC Hawks 6 v 0 Mostyn Lions
Match Report by Matt Evans
Yes you read it correctly, you haven't had a few too many drinks and the score is real.
What a game, what a day, what a result.
The countdown came, 4-3-2-1-0 (a clean sheet today) and a blast off into orbit with 6 spectacular goals.
Straight from the off we made our presence felt with Dan and David driving things forward. Then on 3 minutes Byron rifled one into the top corner. Two more followed in the 1st half as our man-of-the-match Byron completed his hatrick.
Today the lads seemed to have been in holiday mood as we spent almost the entire game camped in the opposition half. I thought at one point they were going to pitch a tent and start a camp fire. It really could have been 10 if the Mostyn keeper had not been so brave.
Lewis didn't have a great deal to do in goal but when called upon could always be relied on, and the big kicks really help to get the ball straight back in the opposition half.
Jack again worked superbly in defence, pushing forward at every opportunity. He got on the score sheet knocking in a David speciality corner.
Hayden had a solid first half in defence clearing with ease when Mostyn occasionally tried to break through. He was replaced by Jack O at half time who worked hard at the back.
Dan was again a midfield power house and came close to scoring many times before he finally netted with a delightful lob over the keepers head.
Jamie again worked hard in his new midfield role and got stuck in the aid the cause. He was replaced by Alex at halftime who then had a great half in which he displayed a great footballing brain, he was also unlucky not to score.
David worked well up front and finally got some reward for all his effort when he latched onto a poor clearance from the goal keeper and volleyed in from well outside the box.
Well done boys, after nearly 3 hours without a goal the flood gates really opened today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep it up, big game next week.
Also a big thank you to Matt and Andy, I think we have a brilliant coaching set up now which is starting to reap its rewards.
