KHFitC 0 v 3 Bewdley Town Royals (League Cup)  

Starting line up: Amedeo, James P, Patrick, Jordan, Harry, Jamie, James S

Subs: Aaron, Ryan

It was always going to be a tough First Round cup match against a team from a higher league, and so it proved.

The first ten minutes Bewdley piled the pressure on, being first to the ball and a little stronger than our lads. We held out well until the 11th minute when the visitors scored a simple goal due to a mix up in the defence.

It took a couple of saves from the returning Amedeo to keep the score line down to a reasonable amount.

Ryan replaced Jamie and Harriers tried to settle. Good displays from Harry with his tough tackling and James S with his usual running at the defence were both noted, and at half time there was a slight chance we could get back in the game.

Aaron replaced Harry at half time, but the Harriers got off to a poor start and conceded two goals in the first five minutes.

After that, the boys mucked in and dug deep, whereas last year we might have collapsed. This was pleasing for the moms and dads that the lads kept their heads up.

Harry replaced Aaron and Jamie replaced Ryan for the last 5 minutes.

James S had a great shot, but was followed up by an equally good save from the Bewdley goalie.

3-0 final score. It was easy to see the gulf between Division 1 and 2, but the boys will learn from that. Back to the league next week which is our priority.
