KHFitC Falcons 1 v 1 Enville Athletic – League Cup - Report By Matt Dalton

Quite possibly our best performance of the season over the full match.

All the players from goal keeper through to strikers stayed in their area of the pitch moving forwards, backwards and sideways supporting each other on and off the ball. Both Anthony and Rory played well in goal, Lewis and Joel in defence were excellent at keeping the Enville forwards under control and limiting them to 2 or 3 chances from which they unfortunately scored once.  The Falcons finished  the first half the stronger of the two teams with Harry hitting the crossbar and  Daniel controlling midfield passing the ball well and offering himself as support to receive the ball back. 

The second half started with the Falcons competing all over the pitch and both teams pressurising defences. On thirty minutes we changed Anthony in goal for Rory and changed formation to 2,2,2. This gave us extra strength in midfield where Daniel stole the show scored our equalising goal from a sequence of passes. Then it was all one way traffic with Ben imitating Joe Cole and running at  the defence, Joel, Tom, Daniel and Antony passing the ball looking for an opportunity without loosing possession, Nathan and Matthew both found good positions but were denied by Enville’s determined defence.
