17 Nov 2007 - Match Report KHFitC U11s (S&DYFL)

KHFitC 1 v 0 Kidderminster Lions Juniors - Report by Mitch Bastable

Starting line up: Amedeo, Patrick, Sam, James P, Jordan, Jamie, James S

Subs              : Aaron, Ryan, Charlie, Harry

As I said last week, today was a must win game for the Harriers if they wanted to maintain mid table status.

The game started very slowly and was evenly matched. Nothing happened that was worth noting in the first 14 minutes until Amedeo made a great save.

The visitors then hit the bar, and this looked like it could be a potential 'banana skin'.

Patrick and Sam worked well in defence together to stop the oncoming Lions, and then James S broke away with one of his runs. He forced the first save from their keeper, a worrying sign as 20 minutes had just passed.

Charlie replaced James S on the stroke of half time.

No further changes were made during the interval, and the match resumed.

A great start for Harriers as Charlie found himself in a one-on-one position with the keeper. He composed himself well and lobbed the keeper perfectly. 1-0 to the Harriers!

Good pressure from the Harriers as James P forced a save from the keeper, and a couple moments later Jamie hit the post.

Aaron replaced Jordan on the eighth minute, and Harry replaced Jamie on the tenth.

A good one-two between Aaron and Charlie led to a good save preventing Charlie from scoring his second.

Ryan replaced Sam on the 15th minute, and with 10 minutes left you felt we needed a second goal to really secure the match.

The Lions sensed the nerves and pressured well during the final ten minutes.

A great save from Amedeo two minutes from time saved the day, and much relief was felt when the ref blew the final whistle.

Far from convincing but three points is three points!

Back to Droitwich next week, a very tough prospect.

MOM- Aaron
