24 Nov 2007 - Match Report KHFitC U11s (S&DYFL)

Droitwich Bullets 7 v 0 KHFitC – report by Mitch Bastable

Starting line up:             Amedeo, Patrick, Ryan, James P, Jordan, Jamie, James S

Subs:                           Aaron, Charlie, Harry

A daunting trip to top of the table Droitwich bullets arrived, and after a 7-0 defeat to the same team only 2 weeks ago, the prospect of a tough game seemed inevitable.

The match kicked off and within seconds Jordan had nearly miskicked into his own net.......he then realised which way we were playing!

The usual pressure arrived from Droitwich with dangerous corners, and crosses from both sides of the park.

A couple of good saves from Amedeo, some stout defending by Patrick, and a cross bar that was on our side kept the home team at bay.

Harriers were just starting to think they could make it to half time level, when James P unfortunately scored an own goal on the 20th minute. There was nothing he could do about it, and it was a cruel blow after the hard work the lads had put in.

However, that was the start of the collapse.........

One minute later Droitwich scored a superb goal. A 25 yard shot right into the top corner of the net, which deserved applause from all around the pitch.

I didn't see the third goal one minute later, because I was still writing my notes on the second goal!!

Charlie replaced James P and 2 minutes later a through ball and a lovely side foot finish meant the home team were 4-0 up at half time.

It was a matter of playing for pride in the second half: Aaron replaced Jordan and Harry replaced James S.

The first 10 minutes Harriers hardly got the ball out of their own half with Droitwich piling the pressure on.

Some good skill from Jamie and a couple of good touches from Charlie were the only bits that stood out, along with some tough tackling from Ryan.

A shot from Aaron went just wide and then Droitwich struck again.

The fifth goal was an unlucky fumble from the keeper.....

The sixth goal a stunning cross met with an equally good header.......

The seventh goal a great 15 yard strike.......

James S replaced Jamie, Jordan replaced Patrick and James P replaced Ryan for the last 5 minutes just to see out the game.

7-0 final score. Home to West Hagley next week in a crunch game. Both teams very equal statistically wise.

MOM- Ryan
