KHFitC 1 v 0 Areley Kings Youth - report by Paul Brooks
Starting Line up: Charlie, Adrian, Ashley, Macca, Josh, Jack, Ben A, Ben G, Ryan, Harry & Danny.
Early stages of the game was very evenly matched with very little goalmouth action, AKY looked a much improved team from our last encounter. Ryan was first to have a shot at goal, Danny won a free kick on the edge of the area, but all our shots were going straight at the keeper. Jack, Ryan, Ben A & Ben G were all kept busy in midfield where most of the action was. Adrian, Josh, Ashley & Macca were doing a grand job in defence keeping things tight. Harry was put through close to h/t but again shot was straight at the keeper. We did manage to get the ball in the net just before H/T only to be ruled offside, so at the interval it was all even.
2nd half. On came H to replace Josh, Fletch replaced Harry & Sam came on to replace Adrian.
Charlie was called into action straight away, making a good save from an AKY corner, and just like the first half, the midfield & defence were kept busy, but the Harriers looked hungry for a result & upped the pressure, after a goal mouth scramble Ben G had 2 shots in quick succession, both just wide. Harry was back on for Danny who shot from the left, the keeper palmed it away and Sam was there to shoot and score from close range 1-0 to the Harriers. AKY had not given up and went close hitting the side netting; Fletch & Harry both had chances late only to be denied by the AKY keeper. Full time 1-0
A fantastic result in a hard fought game, a great team performance and an exciting game for all the spectators. Come on you Harriers!
